THE LEGACY BEHIND BOGGAN REED
Boggan | Reed is more than just a name—it is a tribute to innovation, resilience, and generosity. Inspired by the remarkable life of Nellie Boggan Reed, our brand carries forward her pioneering spirit and commitment to excellence.
Nellie Boggan Reed was a visionary force in modern architecture and art. She constructed the 1933 Century of Progress Home in Tupelo, Mississippi—a ground-breaking project at the Chicago World’s Fair that showcased cutting-edge technology, experimental materials, and conveniences we now take for granted such as central air conditioning and dishwashers. She later planned Rex Plaza, a forward-thinking hotel concept designed to meet the evolving needs of travelers with modern amenities such as outdoor parking, air conditioning, and 24-hour concierge service—an unprecedented luxury at the time. In addition she traveled world-wide, curating the fine art and objects for her projects, reflecting the new modernism of her times.
Boggan | Reed represents her legacy—bold, forward-thinking and dedicated to quality. Every project is infused with the same spirit of ingenuity and integrity that defined her life.

FEATURED ARTISTS:
RAMONE MUÑOZ
Ramone Muñoz has been engaged in the production of fine art since the early 1970s. He received an MFA in Fine Art Painting from Art Center College of Design in 1990. He has exhibited internationally as well as in Los Angeles and maintains a painting studio near downtown Los Angeles. He is a native of Los Angeles.
Muñoz’s work explores a set of problems which revolve around three primary subjects: geology, archaeology, and the ephemeral nature of human civilization. For more than 30 years he has visited and studied countless archaeological sites throughout the world. These sites continue to inform his work.
Muñoz states: “The earth is a form of geologic clock, and the time that passes from day to day, century to century, is registered in the moving landscape which is in a continual state of flux. Naturally, the occasional earthquake that causes damage creates a stark reminder of how momentary and fragile our urban environments are, and aftershocks seem to reawaken a primordial anxiety which takes months, sometimes years, to fade.”

SATAKO UKUNO
Satako Ukuno is an emerging, multi-disciplinary artist from Tokyo, now based in Los Angeles. In her artistic expression, animals and mythological creatures reign as muses. She breathes life into them through dynamic mixed-media paintings, characterized by textured impasto techniques, and glazed stoneware. What sets her creations apart is their ability to radiate a warmth reminiscent of childhood innocence. Each piece serves as an open invitation, beckoning viewers into a realm of comfort and security. Rooted in the values of “gentleness” and “humor,” her approach accentuates the roles of these beings as guardians—infusing her artwork with a profound sense of solace and joy.
